Shenyang Ligong University (SYLU), founded in 1948, is a pilot university of the National Plan for Education and Training of Excellent Engineers, a university to recruit international students with Chinese Government Scholarship and a university approved by the Ministry of Education for recruiting high-level football team.
At present, SYLU has 19 schools (departments) and 49 undergraduate majors. It has formed a discipline layout with "Engineering as the focus and coordinated development of Science, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Economics, Management and Art", and has a comprehensive system for cultivating undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors. Since its establishment, SYLU has cultivated more than 160,000 senior professionals for the country and made important contributions to the country's economic construction and social progress.
There are 1,743 teaching staff and faculties, including 1 Double Academician and 633 doctoral and master tutors. SYLU has 18,200 full-time students, among whom 15,000 are undergraduate students, 3,200 are doctors and masters. SYLU has built 4 cooperative laboratories with advanced equipment and technology with 9 research institutes affiliated to the National Academy of Sciences of Russia and Belarus. SYLU has also established Confucius Institute and the National Pushkin Russian Center in cooperation with Tomsk State University in Russia.
